Medical malpractice lawsuits have been filed against the VA Philadelphia Medical Center and a doctor over faulty radiation therapy.
Five patients have filed the suits against the doctor claiming that he provided inadequate medical care when treating their cancer with a therapy called brachytherapy. These five men are just a few of the veterans that investigators say probably were given the botched radiation therapy.
The process involves radioactive metal seeds being placed inside the prostate with needles. Investigators have said that the facility has given therapy that was too weak, or the needles were placed in the wrong location. The facility continued to give these treatments even after the machine broke down, making it impossible to check their work.
If you or a loved one has been the victim of the medical malpractice, New Jersey hospital negligence lawyers of the law office of Levinson Axelrod by calling 800-346-5529.
