What are the requirements for expert witnesses?

When patients take a medical malpractice case to trial, they may use expert witnesses as part of their case. However, not every doctor or specialist may be an expert witness.

According to New Jersey law, expert witnesses must be licensed and practice in the specialty that is associated with the patient’s case. Lawyers experienced in medical malpractice can help find and determine whether doctors may be expert witnesses.

If you or anyone you know has questions about a medical malpractice case, contact the New Jersey medical malpractice attorneys of Levinson Axelrod, P.A. at 800-346-5529.
