Is your physician required to inform you about an experimental treatment program?

Posted on Monday, May 10th, 2010 at 11:24 am

Some patients undergo experimental treatment programs. These programs are designed to research and develop new treatment methods.

Given that these treatments are experimental, there are often greater risks associated with these treatments. As a result, doctors are required to inform their patients that they are undergoing an experimental program. If a physician fails to inform his patient that the patient is undergoing an experimental treatment and treats the patient anyway, the patient may have cause for a medical malpractice case.

If you or anyone you know has been a victim of medical malpractice, contact the New Jersey improper treatment attorneys of Levinson Axelrod, P.A. at 800-346-5529.
