About 1,000 New Hampshire doctors will see their medical malpractice insurance rates increase as one of the state’s largest malpractice insurance providers raises its coverage costs.

ProSelect Insurance Group is raising its rates, which will affect doctors and surgeons across New Hampshire. The company is raising its rates by 4%, which the company says is necessary because of a weak economy and the company’s decreasing profit margins.
