NY Family Wins $3.1 Million in Wrongful Death Suit

The family of a New York man who died from a preventable heart attack have been awarded a $3.1 million verdict from a New York State jury.
The deceased man went in to South Shore Heart in 2002 after noticing irregular feelings in his heart. The facility gave him a nuclear stress test in order to test for occlusive artery disease. The test came back negative.
The man experienced cardiac symptoms again two years later, and went to his physician. Rather than issue a new test, the physician used the test from years previously. The man suffered a massive heart attack within six months, and passed away. Had the doctor issued a new test, this tragedy may have been prevented.
